I love great album analysis like this! I’ve just begun publishing weekly album breakdown pieces actually!
The first piece I’ve published takes a deep dive into the Coldplay’s fourth album Viva La Vida, and how it totally changed the trajectory for the band forever. I find it such an interesting moment in their career. I’d love you to have a read through and see what you reckon, or send it to anyone you know who loves to think deeply about albums, Coldplay or music in general! - https://elliotwilsononmusic.substack.com/p/viva-la-vida-or-death-and-all-his?r=8q0jcf
Excellent list thank you.
The biggest ommission in my book is Dove Ellis’s ‘Blizzard’.
Thank you. This list is from back in May. Dove Ellis made it pretty high on my year-end countdown. Stellar album!

Aaah. Algorithms! Will check out the EOY list.
I dig your commitment to one sentence descriptions.
Just subscribed, your page is really interesting! I just created my Substack today, I’m reviewing albums. My first one is up now!
I had that Ken Pomeroy one on my list too. It was my campfire album over the summer. Gonna check out Trash Mountain haven’t heard that.
I love how you curated/categorised this! Nodded at all the ones I've heard and jotted down some names for the ever-growing listen list: great read :)
Thanks, Liam! Glad you enjoyed it
Made a playlist out of this list. It’s the most emo playlist I have heard in a long time.
I’ll take that as a compliment
I’m on the fence. Except for Baker/Torres, BCNR, Bon Iver, Momma, Samia…you know what, it doesn’t matter. Enjoy.

Samia’s “Bloodless” was probably one of my favorite albums last year, right up there with “Sable, Fable”. Great list!
