So who the hell is Gannon Hanevold?

That’s me. I’m Gannon, a radio host, writer and reporter whose byline has been seen in the Phoenix New Times, The Alternative, the Minnesota Star Tribune and more.

For a year, I was an entertainment reporter at the Quad-City Times, where I wrote a weekly music column called Sounds Good. In it, I recommended music and reminisced on the memories that made each song and album sound better. I profiled touring musicians and reviewed shows.

Sounds Good received feedback from readers like:

“Entertaining, endearing and chock full of music.”
“I’m 79 and he has me reading about T-Pain.”
“I wish you could find enough news to fill the paper so you’d have no room for the pointless meanderings of Gannon Hanevold.”

This blog is the shadow of Sounds Good. It’s a work in progress. Someday, it might even have a new name. Who knows? Can you smell the dust on the walls?

The bad news: Sounds Great is sporadic. The good news: Sounds Great is free.
